The application of the Chief Inspectorate for Environmental Protection pt. "Air quality in Poland" presents current data on air quality from automatic measurement stations operating under the State Environmental Monitoring (SEM). Data refer to current concentrations of PM10 dust, PM2,5 dust, sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), carbon monoxide (CO), benzene (C6H6) and ozone (O3).
The results of measurements are given in the form of an index - a six-point scale (from "very good" to "very bad"), referring to the potential impact of pollution on health.
Air quality information is presented in the form of a map, charts and summaries of detailed measurement results.
MOST IMPORTANT FEATURES:
• With the access to the Internet and enabled location services, the application shows data from the nearest measurement station or from other selected stations.
• The application sends push notifications in case of exceedances of information or alarm levels, and when new news is published on the GIOS air quality portal.
MAIN ELEMENTS:
DATA FROM THE NEAREST STATION - displaying current data on pollutant concentrations from the station closest to the user.
MAP - displaying current pollution data from all automatic stations in Poland.
SEARCH STATION - a list of automatic measurement stations operating in the SEMs (addresses: city and street) and allowing the display of data from the station by their addresses.
WARNINGS - information about occurrence of high concentrations of contaminants exceeding information or alert levels
NEWS - information on news published on the air quality portal of CIEP (eg information on the publication of air quality reports).
VISIT A CIVIL PORTAL - redirecting to the GIOŚ air quality portal.
The data presented in the application come from the national air quality database of CIEP supplied with data from the databases of provincial environmental protection inspectorates. They are updated every hour based on data recorded from the SEM measurement stations.
The data presented by the application comes only from the automatic measuring stations of the SEM and they are not interpolated.
The data presented is before final verification and may change. Data is presented in local time.
Using GPS running in the background can increase battery consumption. The application requires an internet connection. Use of packet data may result in additional fees being charged.
The application was made by Evertop Sp. z oo on behalf of GIOŚ as part of the project "Strengthening the air quality assessment system in Poland based on Norwegian experience" under the Operational Program PL03 "Strengthening environmental monitoring and control activities" co-financed from the EEA Financial Mechanism 2009-2014.
